Charcoal canister question

I have an evap fault which I think is the purge valve. I think this is causing my petrol smell.
Just wondered if the the charcoal canister ever needs changing or cleaning?

Yes, they get clogged up, and the valued opinion of the forum is to only buy genuine, most OBD scanners pick this up as a P0443 fault code Smile

Part Number is WTV000040 ( aka Valve Fuel Vapour )

As a temporary fix you can try this, pull off the breather valve and spray some isopropyl alcohol
into both tube openings, shake it all up a little bit and let it sit, then let it all drain back out, wipe down and put it all back together

first pic under my index finger is where it's located

second pic - if you push back the upper radiator hose you can see it down under there, unplug the top connector then the two tubes, the one on the side has some push tabs on the side, and the one on the bottom just pulls off Smile

Pic below is what the new part looks like
