Rear passenger lighter socket

I can't seem to find a specific fuse in the owners handbook for the rear passenger lighter socket (at the rear of the middle glove box) - but it's stopped working - do I need to take the glove box apart to dig the wires out ?

Not that I can find (the only one that mentioned a lighter socket had an intact fuse) !

However, diagnostics may not be helped by my very poor description - I meant the central cubby box not glove box - so the lighter socket facing the rear seats next to the rear passenger central air vent !

I believe the lighter sockets are both fed from the same fuse, they are not designed to be used for anything other than the cigarette lighter. If your front socket is working but rear not, then perhaps someone plugged something other than the lighter into it and it/the wiring is damaged?

The accessory sockets in the boot and inside the cubby box are fed from a 40A maxi fuse in the rear right hand fuse box.

They're on a pair of 20 amp regular fuses on my 2007 VSE. main one and one of the rears is on one fuse and the on iside the cubby plus the other in the back of the console is on the other. Boot socket is on its own fuse.

May be a daft question. Have you tried the lighter from the front in the rear socket? Sometimes lighter itself plug actually fails. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

Ah yes - children with a DVD player on the lighter sockets Whistle I'll check the actual DVD current draw, but I would expect it to be a lot less than the actual lighter !

The one inside the cubby appears to be off too - so I'll have a dig around the rear fuse box too this evening - thanks.

Sadly all of the front & rear fuses are fine - so a cubby box stripdown is scheduled for this weekend ...
