Had a bad day, drivers door had dead locked

2002 4.4
Had to change the exterior door handle cable as it snapped I also had to remove the exterior door handle/lock to remove the old cable nipple that was stuck in the handle, all seemed to go back together easily & I tried opening and closing the door multiple times from outside and inside and was working 100 percent perfectly. I locked the car with the remote and then unlocked and now the drivers door will not open either from inside or outside or when using the key in the lock, I can feel tension in the door handles as if it should open so unlikely to be cable related, I can here the central locking working in the door and the little plunger thing on the top of the door card pops up and down but its impossible to open the door it seems its dead locked its self on the one door while all other doors open as normal. I have no idea what to do now, is it even possible to remove the door card with the door shut without destroying it. I'm guessing its going to be a problem with the actual looking mechanism, I don't no if some how I manage to disturbed something in the mechanism or if its just a huge coincidence. Anyone had the same problem, or any advice as have to now climb in via passenger side lol

Never had to do it, but I seem to remember there is a way to move the latch if you open the rear drivers door to gain more access to the edge of the shut drivers door latch area.

Good luck
