On a trip to Newcastle noticed that my 3.6 was using slightly more fuel than usual, 26mpg as opposed to 30-32. Thought it may have been because the outside temp started at -5. As we went north the temp increased and I noticed mpg got slightly better (about 27). It stayed at about that level over the next 10 days in Scotland, travelling to the Wirral and return home to Essex.
Nothing obviously amiss in the engine bay. I checked all 4 wheels for heat after a run, nope.
No faults on IID tool so checked live values.
As I understand it the values are within spec. What I don't understand is Cylinder 2 doesn't seem to follow the others
indeed when revs are increased the offset value nose dives.
Could this be an indication of the cause of my increased fuel consumption? 2007 3.6 TDV8
