Bi-Xenon Adaptive Headlamp Connector Pin-Out diagram?

Hi everyone,

I'm having a minor issue with my '09 Autobiography. Here in the USA we're required to have a side marker lamp. It's part of the whole headlamp assemble. My passenger side lamp is not turning on and I'm getting a warning on my dashboard.

Of course I've already tried replacing the bulb but, being a Land Rover, it's more complicated than that Sad .

To help in tracing the issue I'm trying to find the connector pin-out diagram. I can't find it in the full service manual, the Electronic Library nor in the Electrical Circuit Diagram manual.

I've the two electrical manuals are both from the first gen L322 and I've been unable to find a newer version.

Does anyone know if there's a manual that has the pin-out diagrams showing what each pin in each connector does for my '09 L322?

Thanks!

This is for MY10-12 but the headlight connector is very likely to be the same as yours.

Thanks GraemeS,

But, this gives labels to the wires but does not show what wire is in each position of the connector.

I suppose I could sit down with large cup of coffee and check each wire with an ohm meter but this could take quite a bit of time!

Thanks,

The connectors should have cavity numbers, either at the front or at the back.

Links below for the electrical wiring diagram for the 2009 LHD L322, 4.2 Petrol SC.

Electrical Wiring Diagram :-

https://www.fullfatrr.com/gallery/albums/u...ghting.pdf you'll want to look at C0011-7 which connects to C2039-13 via Solder Joint SJ166.

Connector C0011:-

https://www.fullfatrr.com/gallery/albums/u...0Print.pdf

Connector C2039:-

Can't find any location data for SJ166 I'm afraid as the diagrams are not interactive as per later vehicles.

Hope this helps! L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.

No wire lengths on those diagrams - very unusual for LR.

I agree, not very helpful when looking for Solder Joints etc. I'm pretty sure all of the iEWD diagrams have lengths, maybe a technical advancement from back in the day production! L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.

As it turns out, yes, the car side of the connection does have some markings but I'm not really able to make them out. I would need to find my old macro attachment to get a good photo of them.

But, as it turns out, I fixed it!

This is the time for me to embarrass myself a bit. Embarassed

When I first started to diagnose the issue I took continuity readings with my ohm meter which all read good in the headlamp assembly. Stupidly I did not plug the unit in and take voltage readings! If I did I would have initially seen that the socket is getting 12 VDC just as it should! UGH!

I sprayed some electrical contact cleaner in the socket and used a very small awl to tighten the connectors and plugged the bulb back in. Yep, that's all it needed!

Thanks everyone for your help!

Good that it was a simple fix.
To see small objects I use my phone camera, initially zooming in then enlarging the picture once taken.
