RR stolen and now stuck what to do

Hi all my 66 plate VSE was stolen on Monday. We owned her since she was two months old and we’d racked up 87k trouble free miles, I counted 14 ski trips and 6 summers in the alps, daily dog duties etc.
Miss the car hugely.

I had disabled the keyless go years ago and keep the keys in a tin overnight. The thieves broke the drivers window to gain access and disabled the alarm quickly. I’m not sure how they started the car

Now stuck on how to replace.

I sourced a brand new d350 but insurance is coming in at £9k. Even a late L405 is coming in at £4k+.

Been weighing up with the options but nothing quite covers so many bases in such a range Rovery way.

G wagon is too small and not so refined long distances.
Cayenne is nice but smaller not as relaxed.
Bentayga isn’t me.
A defender doesn’t do it for me.
???

Wondering if anyone else has faced this and what you did. Current

Sincere commiserations Sad

I hope the theiving scum get caught very soon.

It’s very difficult to offer any sort of constructive advice, but you have our heartfelt sympathy. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I have had the same thoughts over the last 12 months after having owned 17 of them. In short, there is no equivalent alternative vehicle that comes in anyway close to a FFRR.

Power, opulence, capacity and comfort - there is no viable alternative, everything else I get into I become very disappointed. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Sorry to hear this, hope you find it soon.

Have you reported it on here? The more people who see this the better.

Look around your immediate area now, usually they are stolen and left to soak a few days, to see if there are extra trackers or an apple tag etc. They will watch to see if anyone claims the car.

First always disable keyless

Next car, get a visual deterrent, Stop lock pro elite/Disklok Gold etc and always use it. It's a pain but in reality just takes a minute extra to fit. Most tea leafs will find the next car.

Consider Autowatch Ghost 2 or similar but dont use the BT app it recently saved a stolen event when they tried the rear tailgate entry method. See this https://www.facebook.com/groups/2232808180...tid=oMANbw

Hide an apple air tag or 2 after disabling the beeper speaker -see utube. But dont use it as your primary tracker get a S5 tracker as the JLR is easily disabled.

If its another FFRR then get 2018 facelift and plus models as they have Ultra Wide technology and are able to be updated, and are currently being recalled for a security enhancement which prevents OBD2 false key starts/Start boxes etc and copying keys etc

The new L460 is even better protected with only 0.07% have been stolen so far.

Thank you Gents much appreciated.

I will add on that Facebook group. I did drive around the local area to no avail.

Annoyingly I had a steering lock but it was not used that night! Current
