Hi Just wondering if i have a self healing L405. Quite some weeks ago I had an oil reading sensor failure (dont quote me) disapeared the next day, never to be seen again. Today I left for work, but driving through Glastonbury was a no no. I know a work around but imagine my surprise when the road seemd to merge into the water, totally gone. so I raised her up and drove through ~3 miles of 1-2 feet of water, sticking to a very steady speed. Passed a stranded mini bus who had help on the way and also a couple of cars seemingly floating away. But at some point on the wading I had parking brake failure, please recalibrate.
when i did finally make it to work the amber light was still on. left work maybe 3 hours later, low and behold the light has gone out.

To be fair it was pretty exciting to actually wade through quite a bit of water and emerge okay

Water in the wiring, which then dried out.

When you have 30 mins Jack the vehicle up & scoot underneath & have a look.

Check all the multi plugs underneath and if any look loose or knocked then unplug, blow any water out & give it a drink of WD-40 before re-assembling.

The water may have gone but capillary action can cause havoc once things get wet.

On a ship I was on we had a water in junction box issue, about 3 decks above the waterline. We couldn't imagine where it was coming from, turned out after some investigation that there was a leaking transducer in the hull and the sea water was creeping up the inside of the wires & insulation.

Big job to strip it out & re wire.

So any fault like that, even if it goes away, I'd investigate and try and nip it in the bud.

The parking brake actuators can crack allowing water past the o-ring which is supposed to seal them to the caliper. Have a good look at both sides. I just replaced both mine for this reason.
