Rubber for engine cover….

Hi chaps,

Does anyone know if the rubber doughnuts/bungs/washers which hold the plastic engine cover on to the studs on a 4.4sdv8 are available separately?

The rear 2 on mine seem to be missing. The front 2 are there, but there aren’t any on the back 2 points.

Cheers There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Brill, top tip thanks guys. I’ll get some on order…..👍🏻👍🏻

I couldn’t see them on microcat listed separately so figured LR would want ££ for a new cover. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

BB, don’t know, possibly but I’m not sure they have ever been there since I’ve had the car!

I’ve only had the cover off a couple of times and can’t recall if they were present. my bet is they fell out during a service and they just put it back on anyway…… as both of the back ones are absent. I’ve ordered some of the Mondo ones from the Bay and that will fix that!

Will keep an eye There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Yes I paid a tenner plus postage for my 4 (only wanted 1) but they look like the same ones (even though mine had a bogus part number LR 030). At least I now have a few spares and the engine cover is fixed properly. Geoff

My rubbers for the cover arrived and I can also confirm that the Mondeo ones with the links above are absolutely spot on and fit like a dream!

Job done!👍🏻 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Well Censored me…..

I’ve put those rubbers in and it’s had another bonus result.

Ever since I’ve had the car it’s had a strange noise at just over 1000rpm, slight buzzing coming through the steering wheel/resonance. Big Cry

Another member had a similar problem a while back, mine didn’t get any worse or better so after I’d looked really hard for the source, I’ve ignored it for 4 years……. Whistle

Could have fixed it for a couple of rubber bungs!!! It’s gone. Must have been the cover vibrating on the posts without bushes. One to remember if anyone else has similar issues. Check you have all the cover rubbers!! Rolling with laughter There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Probably Stan, but for how long I’ve had the noise I reckon some lazy tech mis-located them during a service and just bunged the cover on with the 2 front fixings only. It was LT who had that noise similar to mine, just updated that thread. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

if a garage normally does your work then probably.....no ones perfect.

mine just had a replacement lower arm fitted because the 'tech' at the dealership damaged the ball gaiter when fitting the recall knuckle arm... ... - .- -.
