The other thing I would appreciate some advice on is the tow bar. Now I don’t need a tow bar but the vehicle has one. A rather rusty one that I would remove if I purchased the vehicle. The problem is, I cannot tell that is tow bar and what is chassis? Do this images show rotten chassis?

Hope you can advise

Daz

That doesn’t look too bad for me…. They are sills as there is no chassis, the body is monocoque. Front and rear sub frames hold the major components.

I believe more recycled steel was used during Tata ownership, so some later ones have more rust bubbling than the earlier cars, though those prob rusting now due to age.

Does it tick the boxes otherwise? Trim, colour etc?

If it’s a factory fit tow bar, the Westfalia one, I believe they are no longer available so could be quite sought after. Never fitted or removed one myself but I believe there are some quite hefty brackets you will need to put back if you remove it. You will need to source those first. Might be easier to just leave it on if it’s not in the way.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes it does tick all the other boxes thank you. It’s almost perfect in every other way. No rust on tailgate etc. paintwork literally has only a few stone chips and that’s it.

Good point on the chassis. Forgot it was monocoque 😂

I’m happy to take the trim off if I purchase the vehicle and treat any light damage with kurust etc and then Lanoguard etc. just didn’t want to remove the sill covers to be faced with welding etc.

That would be a no no for me.

No I don’t think that’s the one on this vehicle. This looks like what seems to be fitted.

You will absolutely love it Daz. I will have mine a year next week and I have used it much more than I anticipated at the expense of my M5. The L322 is such a brilliant all rounder.

How have you found it so far Daz? Looking at very similar spec cars at the moment.

Hi all,

Picked the l322 up yesterday. Initial impressions are I absolutely love it! Was a 3 1/2 hour journey home and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Super smooth and refined.

It’s very early days of course but very happy with my purchase so far 👍

Not that it needs it as it’s been very well cared for but I can’t wait to get out and detail it once this constant rain stops!

Daz
