RR insurance write off

Thoughts if I may..RR (2010 5.0) involved in a minor accident. Written off by insurers as uneconomical to repair. Vehicle is in good nick with 198000 miles. Been offered 6.6k or 3.9k to keep vehicle. Valuations on Autotrader etc come back lower than the 6.6k. Can't get anything close for 6.6k. So I've got 7 days to decide. Thoughts?
Thank You.

£3.9k + your car back seems like a good deal. What's the damage exactly? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Bumper & Headlight. Headlight needs replacing but I think I'll keep it and repair the bits myself. Thank you all.

Take the money and run ! Laughing

I would keep it and get the money. Fix the car up, drive it until the wheels fall off and break it for parts or sell it for what you can get for it.

I have a van (Vivaro) which I have had for 10 years. Got damaged by a touring bus (just the wing and some small damage on the bumper) and the driver was a fault, and the other party's insurance paid me what I paid for the van 10 years ago !
Needless to say I still drive it (without even having to fix it)

P.s. This is in Germany.

Keep it repair it and enjoy it. You know what was wrong so can explain fully if you come to sell it on.

Alternatively once fixed get it inspected https://www.autolign.co.uk/ and change its CAT status, it comes up as inspected but will go someway to restoring its value, but don't expect it to be full un catorgorised value.

Sounds like the insurance company have made you an offer you can't refuse, fix it up and drive it like you stole it Smile

Keep us posted. This would make a good repair story for the forum.

£6.6k seems a harsh offer. I would push back and ask for more.
