The premium is for five years from the second time the car is taxed so you might have another year to go. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

I did wonder what my maths were doing wrong? My mates got a 17 and is chuffed as this year his RFL has dropped… Figured I’d understood him wrong…

Yes I agree with V8 Bob, I recent purchased a 06/2017 registered FFRR SDV8 and still paid £537. So in total years you have to wait befor tax drops to £180 is 6yrs. |

No i purchased a May 2017 car last December and i paid a reduced tax on it £300 something.It is now £180. I think it depends on the month the car was registered. overfinch modified |

Where the car is taxed for a full or half year and that includes the point at which it falls 6 years old dvla prorata the tax charge 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

Yep...what V8 Bob said. Mine is a June 17 reg and when tax was due this year (from 1st Feb 23) I paid £283.33 instead of the previous years at £500+. Mike - MPx
