Anybody had any luck or tried the scrappage scheme? Been waiting 8 weeks now and no luck.

Do you have a non runner you need to scrap? - if not you will get way more by selling it as it's a scrappage scheme and not a buy-back scheme. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

No it's a runner, my main car. Just recently fallen on hard times and don't have the time or energy for tyre kickers and messers. TFL are giving 2k, my local council give 1k plus 600+ in the scrap price plus whatever else I can take off it and sell. Seems criminal to scrap it, will be a sad day

Local bloke near me is still waiting on his scrappage payment from tfl some x3 months since they took his car.

That sounds about right. Always fast enough to take your money.

Your car has to have an mot you need to have been the owner for at least 12 months and have insurance in place at the time of so called scrappage.
I'm sure they just take them away and sell them on outside the tax zone I mean clean air bolliox zone.

Not sure if it true but some owners have received notification of transfer of ownership instead of being scrapped and find their old cars still on the road. Mite explain why you don't get your money straight away......they have to sell it 1st

According to a recent survey 95% of cars in the ULEZ zone are now compliant. I like the cleaner air  2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

You can take it to any licenced scrap place of your choice, just have to provide a certificate of destruction. Which I should think that it can only be parted out and not put back on the road after. WBAC offer £1500, you couldn't get a corsa with half the history for that money..

I'm not certain of the exact "specifications" but our human filtration system (our noses) filter out particulates down to so many microns.

The size of the microns emitted from Euro VI & 6 ICE's are often less than that so go straight down into your lungs.

So, the air appears to be cleaner........

& that's without taking into account the particulates from brake/tyre dust & of course vehicle fires.

Oh, BTW it's a pity LUL don't have to meet the air quality of above ground.
