That button switches the air con on and off altogether, i.e. not just the auto function. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

Full auto climate requires the A/C to be switched on, I'd imagine that if you recovered the refrigerant then it would work on full auto without removing the moisture from the air. I would imagine that the rest of the system would continue to operate as if in 'auto' if the aircon was turned off, I've never tested that functionality though. |

thanks, having noticed more about this while driving today, I think there is still some sort of auto function as the blowers are still on but there is no fan level showing on the dial - so I think it just carries on "auto" without a/c |

The auto fan / temperature etc all works when the AC is switched off, same as your BMW. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid
