from memory when you unlock the doors, the lights come on so they must be linked to the 'unlocking'

Lights can be disabled/enabled by press+hold the light switch ...it gives a flash and then they dont come on for unlock / door open.

you could put an inline switch from the battery so you can disable all the electrical systems.. ... - .- -.

The door latch itself contains what tells the car the door is open I believe.
