Battery drain

Evening all, just over a week since my car broke down and I had to replace the battery I'm already getting the low battery please start engine on the dash. Is there anything common that can be the cause of battery drain to check before I start randomly pulling fuses?

How long are you leaving the ignition on without the engine running before the fault comes up? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Hi Guys bumping this thread, just been sat in the house on my phone and realised no sound was coming from my phone and it was showing that it was connected to a Bluetooth device. When I checked it was connected to the invery in the car. Went out to check the car and it's locked but the radio was lit up showing the range rover logo and the orange blinking power light. Opened the car and locked it again and it all shut down. Has anyone else had this issue? Thinking this is what could be draining the battery if the radio is randomly staying on.

I have the Invery BT audio adapter but it shuts down when the car is off but this will certainly be a battery drain if it's not shutting down. BTW my phone connects to the LR bluetooth handsfree and only audio goes through the Invery. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Faulty diode in your alternator? It's quite common on the 4.4 TDV8 as a cause of battery drain and spurious errors. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Is there anyway to test this or is it just a case of replacing the alternator?

I'll have to pass on that one.

Aside from looking at voltage when the engine is running (13.5V-14.5V), I don't know anything more advanced to check a faulty diode (others may).

I just know a faulty diode in the alternator is a common cause of discharging and strange electrical errors on the 4.4 TDV8 (mine has been replaced also). 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Easier just to replace the whole alternator as the difficulty involved in removing the fan and shroud etc to get to it mean you may as well. As you have a BT adapter that is not shutting down then this would suggest the first thing to investigate - simply unplug it for the time being. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

These cars can behave strangely with anything but a perfect battery. Budget to renew every 3-5 years.
I use Bosch when I can.

Could be barking up the wrong tree here, and I'm sure people who know can confirm/deny this. When you replaced the battery, did you tell the RR it had a new one? I used the IID tool.

Also the Negative lead has a box on it that feeds back charge/condition etc. I forget the name. I replaced this as my 5.0 was being silly after a new battery and giving the warning.

EDIT: Genius of this Parish Caesium posted this, which was the genesis of me changing the cable:

https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic61536.html?

Since I swapped that out it's behaved much better.... Just the knackered Air Con, occasional clunk from the gear selector on braking and inconsistent Audio system... All will be sorted soon I hope!

Good luck!
