United Kingdom 2018 Range Rover Autobiography SDV6 Loire Blue

Thanks for the insurance tip
I took you advice and called NFU.

Interesting phone call as they confirmed there is no added premium, as well as confirming they have no data showing a difference in car break ins. The advice from NFU was " don't leave any belongings of any value in the car "

My Father in law whos a locksmith syas it's this simple " Thiefs wont break into a car where theres no belongings on show "

So you could argue that letting the " wrong'ns " see into your car reduces your risk of a break in to the vehicle.

One final add...

This of course all depends where you live !

Nice
L405 is the sweet spot, especially with clear glass

United States 2017 Range Rover 5.0 SC V8 Loire Blue
Re: Replacing factory privacy for clear glass

Hello mrbear65! I live in Los Angeles with a similar spec to your RR. (2017 Full Size SC in Loire Blue). I'm eager to try and get clear glass on mine as well. By chance can you send me the company details that did your car? I'm looking for someone that can simply source the parts, and I could have someone local install them. Land Rover *will not* officially sell out of market parts, so I need someone that would be willing to sell them to me (or someone local I would find/pay) who can in turn ship them to me ....

Thanks!!

Brad (here's my rig)

I thought I'd share a positive experience regarding the conversion from rear privacy to clear.

I bought my 2018 AB L405 6 months ago in Louire Blue, Ivory ? cream interior.

Pretty much perfect but I prefer clear glass not privacy. That said, as stated above, I bought the car and decided I would take my time finding a decent window company that could convert to clear.

I know this is controversial, but every one is different and living in the dark countryside, this is what I wanted.

I know that there maybe only a small minority reading this that would be interested doing the same, so I thought I'd share the details

I used the windscreen Company in Ipswich ( I live in Dorset !) but worth travelling for the right Job. Glass is from LR and is pilkington. Cost £3700 but it's a proper Job and the only ever upgrad ( or downgrade ) I wanted.

For me, I now have my perfect RR & far cheaper than upgrading.

This is all great, I prefer clear glass but the car I have ticks all the boxes except that one (it has ugly kid glass) but I have got used to it and the thick end of 4k buys a lot of beer to help me forget it. In fact it’s off the list when selecting a replacement (either will do) just side steps, tow bar and bright colours remain (no grey, silver or black outside or in). Didn’t mean to hijack the thread other than to say for me changing to clear glass is to expensive and you might just eventually get used to the tint, I know I did, but I still don’t like it. Geoff
