These guys have a good reputation, they have been around for years, no special knowledge is needed to replace these any reputable garage can fit them...

I did a front air strut on my L322 and it looks to be a similar procedure on a L405. It wasn't a bad job and definitely not a $2k job. The first time of doing it took around 2 hours, you'd expect that to be maximum time for the job so book time is probably 4 hours.

Update to my post: the new Arnott units do not have continuously variable damping. The remanufactured Arnott units do.
