Vacuum pump gasket DIY

The DIY is simple enough.

Might be worth changing the oil pressure sensor as well while easy access and also probably refreshing the vacuum lines.

But the important thing which prompted this post.

Do not use after market gaskets, or even the older style gasket.

The newer style gasket seems to have 1 back thats metal, and the back thats going onto the engine head is knurled in some way.

The older one I removed was smooth on both sides, I am guessing this is what caused the leak.

Finally don't forget the RTV on the two parts of the gasket as per the service manual. If you ceebs looking its basically the two circles on the gasket knurled side.
 Its actually a sport Sad

Not anymore, 4.4 TDV8 now Very Happy
