Why are we contacting you?

Your vehicle is installed with Light Emitting Diode (LED) scanning headlamps and it has been reported that one or both of the headlamp assemblies could fail when the vehicle is started or switched off, and will not recover on any subsequent ignition cycles. If this occurs, the instrument panel cluster will display a critical warning message “Headlamp fault detected”.

Failure of the headlamp assembly will result in loss of the headlamp, front position lamp, daytime running light and turn signal indicator function.

As a result, vehicles do not comply with Regulation UN-ECE 48, Installation of Lighting and Light Signaling Devices. It is possible that your vehicle may be operated with one or both headlamp assemblies not functioning. Vehicles operating without headlamp assembly functionality could lead to an increased risk of a crash.

What will your Land Rover retailer/authorized repairer do?

We will update the Headlamp Control Module A (HCM) and Headlamp Control Module B (HCMB) software on your vehicle.

Software only Thumbs Up

Nope, not the first ! Inoperative rear lights. N784. Dated 28/July, we were away until yesterday.

Failure as a result of damage to the rear tail lamp link lead wiring…
If you recall JLR we’re removing the sponges, maybe something else now . Anyway may change one or both rear lamps. Probably one for me as they have already replaced one.
They volunteered, as I had given up , & are putting in the missing gesture tailgate that was missing on delivery.
Earliest booking 20th September !

Dixy , best check to see if you need your rear lamps check at the same time Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Should have said first recall for me.
Not had a problem with rear lights yet.
Interesting that they cant book you in for a while as well. What are they going to do to fund these enormous glass cathedrals when new sales are taken away and the service departments give no service.
Not sure I would want shares in Virtue, Sitner or Lovett.
Daughter has decided a Defender would suit her so will place an order in the next few months, if they offer me a Skoda as a loan car it wont help their chances of getting the business. letters not necessarily in the right order

Do the dealers or is it JLR offering a runaround whilst the car is on recall? Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. I have had this fault twice in the new car as discussed in another thread.

The first time was the same day I drove the car off the forecourt and the call out chap just took out the fuse and it all reset but he was about 90 mins on my drive.

The second time a few months later the call out chap had a special device that took 10 mins to fix. He knew exactly what to do as it was a recognised issue by then and his device seemed to fix it.

What I need to know is was the second visit the proper fix for the recall.

I've just received the N810 letter too so i guess I could assume its not been fixed, or that the database was not updated after my second "fix".

If you have not had it done I recommend you get on with it as its a right pain when it goes. The whole headlight assembly dies and the remaining indicators go wild.

The adaptive headlights on my P510e are rubbish, getting flashed all the time, so I have to manually dip them. On the P400e that I had for 3 years, faultless, never flashed once. That's progress for you!!

One of the Youtubers It's Joel did a review of the L460 he'd hired or been given by The Out and this was one of his criticisms about the headlights.

Not a bad review, found the thing with seat and satnav interesting.

No problem with my P440e, the adaptive headlights works very well. Proud owner of a P440e SE, Belgravia Green

I have the recall as well on MY23 P530. No slots at the dealer for 2 months Rolling Eyes so hopefully the lights don’t go AWOL in the meantime.

I find this lack of slots totally beyond belief. £140k for a new car and when it goes wrong, no service.
When they have stock coming out of their ears and customers just reject things will be interesting. letters not necessarily in the right order
