WHAT CAN BE THE PROBLEM?

Good day to all. After a daily watch for about a week noticed that my TD6 is kind of smoky whenever on "D" mode during accelaration(smoke mainly visible during night time) but when gearbox on "SPORT"mode, under same conditions, accelaration seems to smokeless.
Is this normal?or any ideas/suggestions please of what can be wrong?????

As far as I am aware, sport mode just alters the speeds that the auto box changes gears at. I.e. It keeps it in lower gear for longer when accelerating. I guess its possible that the engine runs a bit cleaner at higher revs as the turbo would kick in a lot more air into the mix.

Don't know if that helps in any way.

Another thought, if the exhaust is more noticeable at night, it could be condensation showing up more in the cooler air. No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE
