Please Sir can I have some TPMS

After getting a blowout on the motorway I was forced to buy four new tyres and I included four TPMS valves in the deal but we couldn’t get it to work so I have included some photos of wear I think the transceivers think should be also above the centre console, which I removed. Can’t find the two PMS module. Does this mean mine hasn’t got it fitted and is there a way to fit it?

TPMS was an optional extra on the later cars.

Our old 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE had it as standard. We learnt that our 2012 didn't have it fitted when we had a blue out on the A1 whilst towing a car on the trailer.

I looked at retrofitting it to our 2012 ages ago and ended up not bothering.

You'll need the 4 receivers that are plugged onto each wheel arch liner as per your pictures.

There's also a receiver that lives behind the head lining as you've mentioned.

I believe there is also a TPMS ECU somewhere.

Here is a diagram of the system components from the workshop manual.

There is a receiver mounted to each wheel arch for the TPMS sensors, a receiver inside the car for the sensor mounted to the spare wheel, and an ECU in beside the rear fusebox.

The wiring might be there, unlikely that the sensors or ECU will be.

You'll also need an IID tool or similar to enable it in the CCF.

If you really want TPMS then I'd be inclined to just get a third party one - something like this - though I have no idea if it's any good......

I wouldn't bother tbh, and you'd need 5 sensors, you need one in the spare. Like I say, I wouldn't bother

You don't need spare wheel sensor. It can be disabled.

I did not know that. Over here in the UK it's an MOT failure if the car is of the year when TPMS if fitted has to work on all wheels including the spare. Thankfully mine is pre this date so a none functioning TPMS is not an MOT failure. (According to my MOT examiner of choice)
