What really needed for Android headunit on '04 Vogue M62

Hi guys! I bought an '04 Vogue about a month ago over here in the Netherlands and love the car already. I will be doing an overland trip in juli with friends.

I've been trying to figure out what I need to install a (widescreen) Android unit as I have the older BMW nav system (not working btw) and DSP unit. I want to retain the DSP unit as it sounds good. I have been searching forums and FB pages but can not find a simple answer.

What do I really need besides the headunit itself? Which cables? Do I need converters for the DSP?

I have a 03 Vogue with DSP and the old BMW headunit. In my opinion the easiest solution is to move the old headunit into the glovebox because it is needed to activate the DSP. For the new unit you need one of those cables below. You need to check which connectors you have. The hardest part is getting the cables from the front to the back, that's what holding me off from doing it.

May I humbly suggest that you preserve the original design by replacing the defective unit with a 2nd hand one? And if you want an actually usable navi, get a MKIV with 2019 maps. And if on top of it all you desire Bluetooth connectivity, plug a BMW module. All told should cost you probably less than half of an aftermarket Android unit + paraphernalia and it's all plug and play for the most part Thumbs Up
And most importantly you will retain all the stock functions i.e. trip computer, slave clock setting, timed ventilation, phone function (if fitted), CD changer and of course the DSP and its settings and, ultimately, your vehicle's originality.
