dont know about soundproofing ,but imagine how much money the car manufactures would save and make by cutting out that bit of carpet and selling disposable mats that once dirty you throw away and buy new..

thats almost what i do, just buy a cheap set on ebay for 20 quid and just get a new set whenever they look shabby. 2004 black Vogue TD6
