2010 L322 Rear Door Superlock? (Cannot open)

One of my L322’s has a completely dead rear door.

- interior and exterior door handle do not operate it
- no noise from actuator when lock or unlock
- the doors switch or drivers panel switch does not operate the window.
- no fault codes
- no visible damage to the wiring loom

Yes I’ve reset the battery, yes I’ve checked the BDC for codes, one mechanic reckons it’s just a seized latch. But too me that doesn’t explain the lack of mechanical noise or the window not operating through any switches.

I don’t think it can be the child lock? Because the drives door switches would be Abel to operate the window?

Just the one rear left door... thanks for any help

I had this exact problem with my rear door and I finally found that the child lock lever had somehow detached itself from the mechanism but was still floating around in the lock. I had to pull the tread plate up and then unscrew the door card (that will move but won’t come out) and then carefully pull the door seals away to get some access. You’ll need a longish screwdriver to pry the child lock part away (if this is the same problem of course).

A word of warning… you’ll most likely be inside the car doing this and when it lets go you’ll likely be leaning on the door so don’t fall out like I did…. Laughing

Good luck

Regards

John
