Another door lock question

Done a search and think I have the answer, door latch however thought I'd seek opinions.

Passenger front (N/S uk) won't open from inside or outside even after unlocking using the keyfob or inside unlock button.

It does however unlock and open from outside if I have the keyfob present using Keyless entry.
One thing that isn't happening though is the side step fails to deploy???

Could this just be the lock mechanism is not sending the signal that the door is open / unlocked?

All working fine until the wife couldn't get out so suspect it's all related.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Cheers,
Paul.

Update to the post for any future searches.

A new lock mechanism solved the problem.
There was a fault showing for no communication to BCM from the running board but nothing with the locking.

Upon removal the actual arm / bracket that the internal release cable connects to looks to be broken. No resistance at all and it just flops around unlike the new latch where it has resistance and returns to original position.
Plugging in the connectors to the new latch brought everything back to life.

When speaking to the parts guy at JLR he recons they supply 2 - 6 a week over the Land Rover range.
Just for info the OEM part was over £60 cheaper than the Ebay ones listed.
