2007 L322 Lower Control Arms

Hey guys,
Kept getting a vibration through the steering wheel when changing lanes on the motorway.
Dropped it at the garage today, and just been informed, all 4 lower control arms need replacing, and theyre wanting £800+ to do them all.

Havnt looked too much in to it yet, but - Is the cost about right, or a rip?
And, possible DIY job, or not?

Ive been driving round for the last few weeks without any major issues, but should it really not be on the road if all 4 have gone?

Thanks in advance guys

Sounds about right if you are paying a garage - is this genuine parts and includes the cost of a wheel alignment? It's doable as a DIY job if you have the right tools and facilities Loads of youtube vids showing how it's done and the issues with seized parts that can make you wish you had just paid a garage to do it...... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

It was a quote from a halfords garage, so I assumed it may have been a really high one.

I'll have a youtube and check the cost of parts.

Odds are ill gather some other quotes and see what's what.

One is quite easy to do, the other is a bit of a bastard to extract the ball joint....

Be careful with cheap quotes and find out the make of the parts, there are some very cheap parts out there that will fail very quickly....

Genuine or a well known brand is worth the extra money...

And ask for proof that they are genuine/good make etc as it's easy to pass the cheap ones off... Pete

Went to a different garage id used before, so all good now hopefully.

However just had it dropped off, taken for a test drive and i dont seem to have any power or turbo at all Sad Struggles to get up to 30 mph.

No lights or warnings on dash.

Any idea's what could have happened? Or where to start to try resolve?

They dropped it off not far off their closing time, so couldnt do much about it today with them, but itll be back with them first thing tomorrow.

Any obvious things i should be looking out for, or asking them though?

No smoke coming from exhaust etc either, so hopefully not a full turbo replcement etc.
