United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue SE Supercharged Java Black
4.2 SC Inspection 2 cost

Hi,

My FFRR is due a service in the next couple of weeks, so I asked my local dealer for an estimate. With me supplying the oil (which I got on offer from macro's a couple of months ago) they have quoted £405 including VAT.

The estimate includes the following (all prices plus VAT)

Labour
Carry out Land Rover Inspection Two, Replace air filter + transfer box oil - 238.80

Parts

1) Oil Filter & Drain plug (12.59 + 2.60)
2) Air Filter (23.60)
3) Pollen filter (33.30)
4) Oil - Lubric x 1 (6.42)
5) Oil - Lubric x 2 (17.32 each)
6) Screenwash (2.58 )
7) Washer x 2 (0.27)

Does £405 inc. vat sound reasonable? My car is a 2006 SC on 47K miles

Cheers

Justin

Here are the full descriptions

LRIYK500010 OIL - LUBRIC x 2 17.32 (+vat) i think this may be transfer box oil, if so it will be removed as I had a transfer box oil seal replaced recently so I hope they replaced the oil at the same time.

LRSTC50542- AF01K2 (P) OIL - LUBRIC x 1 6.42 (+vat) - Silicone lubricant - I'm guessing for the door seals

Transfer box oil is LSTC4861

The prices are for a diesel vehicle last September, but I can't see them being much different for your FFRR. VAT will have to be added to the prices shown

Oil filter £15.70
Pollen Filter £30.94
Air Filter £32.52
Sump plug washer about 80p

Total cost of parts including VAT will be no more than £100, you are supplying your own oil. Nice profit for LR Whistle Whistle

The estimate states labour as follows

Carry out Land Rover Inspection Two, Replace air filter + transfer box oil - 238.80 + vat or £286 inc vat Shocked

1) Can anyone confirm whats involved in an inspection two?

2 Can anyone confirm what they have paid for an inspection two?

Thanks

I have a sheet which work they should carry out

Dont know if it is also for the SC.
They shoud check 42 things.
(there it is nothing written about chaning the transfer box oil)

they dont even check for software updates Evil or Very Mad

If you like to have it PM me your mail adress and I will send it to you.

Hi Phil,

I think i've just found the same 42 point inspections two sheet.

http://www.fullfatrr.com/gallery/albums/us...sheets.doc

Which also makes no mention of transfer box oil, but it does suggest the spark plugs should be replaced.

I will call the dealer on Monday to find out why there is a discrepancy.

I do feel like I'm getting screwed, but I guess that's part of Range Rover ownership Sad

Cheers

Hi Justin

Exactly I have these files.
I just found the files for 2007 V8 RRs but they are in german.

I can tell you I was a bit shocked..

They change:
air filter: all 96'000km
spark plugs: 168'00km
fuel filter: 240'000km
transfer box oil: 120'000km

the pdf can be found here:http://www.allrad-kontor.de/lr_info/inspek...b_MJ07.pdf

I will ask my dealer what they do.. If they dont change the filters I will do it by myself.

just found out.. My inspection is free as I have this premium warranty stuff.. But well. if they just do some simple work it is not very useful
But they should repair my rear view cam. Mine does only work if the car was for two or more hours in the sun Laughing
Lets see if they managed to get the cam in more than 1.5 months.. Im sure I can use it on my offroad experiences in France.

If not I think I really have to call the CEO from the shop.

Cheers

Phil

There are other places that you could go to.. If your car is an 06 model then the chances that a main dealer will retail it again is low. So the full service history from a main dealer becomes a bit pointless. I have had dealings with the dealership in cambridge which is where mine came from and to be honest they are a complete waste of time, they could not even adjust the handbrake properly which was a near failure on the mot, ended up doing it myself, then the nice lady said would i like to book it in for a service, to which i replied not likely.

For that sort of money i would want alot more.... do or do not there is no try.....

just to go with last post, my local dealer has a 03 plated RRFF in stock. i suppose it depends on a lot of things as to whether they take a car in to stock or not.

i personally think you will sell a car easier if it has a full service history too.

one of the FF's i looked at when i was buying, was lovely with low miles on it, but didn't have a service book for some reason, it is still for sale months later. Current: TDV8 (3.6) RRS HSE
