Sadly you do, but it's not actually as involved as you'd think.

SteveGT helped me when I ffitted my ACM. In a nutshell, remove all the torx screws on the top, remove the speaker grille and the screws it reveals. Remove the air vents and take out 1 screw on each side. Then slide the dash top towards you and then lift it up. (if you leave the dash speakers in you need to be a little careful when you disconnect the cable)

If that doesn't work.
http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/vehicle/lookupForm and browse for your vehicle new range rover etc.

Click Owner on the top right and select accessory fitting instructions: ICE/ entertainment.

another thing to remember is when the changer is disconected all functions on the media display thing in the middle will cease to work full stop or they did in mine when i was fitting the acm as the stereo system has to see that the changer is there by comunication to and from so when its removed it all throws a wobly.
it might not effect early cars but just so your aware Thumbs Up onto no6 Range Rover
