Test Drove a 2010 3.6 TDV8 RR Vogue

Wow all I can say, I have had lots of 4x4 Top of the range shoguns, Jeeps LR Discos etc etc, all have been brilliant, but I was blown away with the ride & comfort in the RR, totally smitten, I just need to get rid of my current 4x4 now & then start to really look.

The PX i have been offered have been very poor & that is being polite, so I will do it myself & find the right one for me & my pocket, dont get me wrong the one I looked at today I was tempted to buy but I dont really want to spend 50k on another car to watch it sink to the values I have just been offered on my current fleet Yawn Big Cry

The moral of the story is I should have bought one when I wanted to last time rather than talk myself out of it Laughing Laughing

Oh & I had better start working on the wife as she loves the Jeep Censored Bow down

Thank you to all those who have offered assistance to date especially Gary Smile Mutt

If you are thinking around 50K, then you may well be able to get the new 4.4 TD in a few months for around that price.
Or wait longer & surely the 3.6 will take some further hits on price as they become the "outdated" engine.
Of course the 3.6 is a great engine, but as always the latest versions will surely de-value them....which is good as they become more affordable.
It seems the cheapest 4.4 you may find at the moment is around £58 K 'ish.
6 months should easily see that 8k come off Whistle
You should get an early 3.6 from £20K upwards if you don't mind how many miles it's done.

There's plenty to choose from so hope you find a goodun Thumbs Up

Hi Rolo,

I am not going to spend 50k been there done that Laughing Reason is the resale value later when I want to change or upgrade etc, there seems to be lots of RR's out there with 30 to 40k miles which are in great condition & I think will be more value etc

Funny and slighty annoying was when I asked the guy why the price between similar cars varied so hugely he said some have had different paint jobs that may have cost a couple of grand or up Market leather etc, I said to him but you tell me when I come to px my cars that the extras on it don't make the car more expensive to px Sad Laughing I did think that was quite funny one way street & all that Mr. Green

Oh and the wife says yes Mr. Green just got to get her in one to make sure she really likes it & wants it quickly Bow down Thumbs Up

Hopefully it will not be long Twisted Evil Mutt

Yes, this is the big problem - I think you just have to console yourself that whatever you buy you loose huge amounts of capital with this type of vehicle. I had the same dilemma when ordering new, but I came to the conclusion that you only live once & if I can afford it then may as well do it.

I reckon most salesmen get a chip inplanted with the "common salesmans phrase book" - As you say one way street - they won't pay you more if you have thousands of pounds worth of extra's when you p/ex, but when they sell they demand a high price because it's got this & that,

Might be worth asking James from LPR & Gaziello on here who will be far more clued up on values what they think on future re-sale values of the 3.6 compared to the 4.4 - i.e will those late 3.6's take quite a hit once the 4.4's become a bit more affordable used.
