Looks like the rubber strap for the scissor jack.

Should have the jack & handle. Also looks like the spare wheel lifting strap is missing. I'll add a photo of mine tomorrow Thumbs Up

I believe the lifting strap was deleted at some point during production - I suspect because it was BMW's engineering department that came up with the idea as it was used on the X5 as well. My 2012 car didn't have one and the threaded inserts in the body had undisturbed paint on them, so it had never had one fitted from new.

Good news is the bodyshell remains the same and secondhand straps come up on eBay. I fitted one to my 2012.

I'm told that dealers actually sold them as 'upgrades' on some later cars sold - effectively ordering the strap as a spare part for an earlier vehicle and then fitting it as an accessory... 2012 (L322) 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE, RSE, Fuji White over Arabica.

Thanks for the images, proved useful.

Now furnished with a second hand jack, handle, wheel nut spanner and even managed to source a set of spare wheel straps to help lift out the floor.

At least now I’ve got the tools just in case the worst happens.
