Asking for this means you don't trust the dealer. You have protection under consumer law when buying from a dealer so the onus is on them to make sure the car is fit for purpose and without serious defects and gone are the days of 'sold as seen'. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Indeed. At this stage I don't trust the dealer. At this stage I don't think I should buy from the this dealer. I have visited twice, and both times the car has had a flat battery, thus preventing a half decent look, let alone a test drive..... s |

My first thought was "stuff them I'd go somewhere else" but then I thought if it was the other way around and I was selling a car would I be happy to let a stranger take it away to wherever for however long they want and let someone do whatever they want to it. No chance

If I was a dealer I wouldn't let it out of my sight until it was paid for in full. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

It's a risk buying any car >10 years old and more so with a RR. In the end you just have to look at as many as possible, make a decision and trust in your rights as a consumer if there is anything seriously wrong. I'd not buy something too far away so if you have to take it back it's not major hassle. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

A specialist might travel to the dealer and inspect the car there for you with the dealer's agreement.

It may be a parasitic drain they can't or can't be bothered to find and / or a new battery will cut into profit margins on a car they know they can sell as is anyway. With cars worth <20k profit margins are not huge so don't expect dealers to indulge you when they are shifting stock worth much more. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Any good dealer will sort out any issues you have with a car.

So test drove my first L322 this morning (4.4TDV8). Loved the ride and power, and makes me want one even more.
