Have a look at David's thread, he's probably now de-rusted just about everything that could rust.

To answer your question on screws and clips holding the liner in place, on my car there is one nut at the top, 2 screws straight ahead of you when looking at the liner and finally one plastic clip with a centre pin holding the liner to the rear bumper.

the more time you spend on your prep work cleaning down the better the outcome will be. i have been dealing with rust all my life in the bodywork trade this is the way I do mine and it works well no more rust or welding for future mots. clean down and remove all rust prep areas with a rust sealer Hammerite kurust is okay the one goes on blue and then turns black. for bad areas the rest like wheel arches clean remove all dust etc degrease panel wipe or alike. mix up some epoxy resin and paint the arch area leave it dry then go over all seams and grommets with a seam sealer like tiger seal pu sealer let dry and recoat with a second coat of epoxy resin. and then put your wax oil coating on I go over about 3 coats over 3 days. and when you put all of the covers back use stainless steel fixings jobs a good un recoat every year with fresh wax oil coating the sheep oil is looking like a good item to use at the moment

I've just finished de-rusting the sub frames with a flexishaft in my dremel using grinding discs. Some of the scale was really thick.

Hmm, I think it will be a real nightmare trying to reach some of those places....even with a dremmel.I did a full underbody restoration of my E92 M3, when I had a ramp and ended up fitting a new subframe and replacing most of the suspension and barkes. I am thinking there is going to be a limited amount of work I can do without starting to dissasemble things. Which I am not sure if I have the facilities or inclination to do!

take a picture of the fixings that are giving trouble I think it is the ones that have a small pin in the centre you tap them through and use a v tool behind the round you can't recover the pin so buy some new ones cheap on eBay new vehicle purchase

I did mine while the suspension arms were off the car which made it a lot easier.

Yes, will have to try and decide if this is to be a big project or a scaled back version. I have ordered a load of lanoguard, bilt hamber etc stuff, so will see what I can do with that when it arrives. Then try and decide |

I’m about to do my rear wheel arches with Lanoguard. Will use Neutrarust 661 following rub down. Paint over then spray with the sheep oil Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

i have watched this vid a couple of times and it can be done better. you do not have to cut the arch trim you can bend it around the down return so it is left as one strip new vehicle purchase

Our local undersealing place have started to offer Lanoguard as a cheaper alternative to their normal Dinitrol stuff.
