The L405 22’’ rims have the same side wall as the L460 23’’ rims. Both ride well and look good in my experience. MY23 D350 HSE

I would get the smallest possible. Better off road and better on road comfort. 20 or 21 inch. L405 2016 - Supercharged V6 petrol 380hp

My D350 has 23 inch wheels fitted and I cannot in all honesty say there is anything whatsoever the matter with them. They ride as well as any car I have and better than most. I am thinking that the latest protocol of NVH had negated the need for higher profile tyres. 2006 S/C owned from new. Black, sand with black inserts. Shes a thirsty girl. ( now gone)

I am interested to add to this topic. I have a AB with 23 inch rims. I have just completed a 500 mile round trip and have started to notice a vibration through the car at 74 mph and above. I have owned the car for a year and find the ride superb on local journeys but the motorway speeds are now becoming harsh. Now what I don’t know is whether this is the bad quality of our tarmac or reflective of 23 inch wheels or whether a pot hole has bent a wheel. Would be very interested to hear from

My 2022 Vogue on 23inch wheels is in for new pads and discs (all 4 warped) today at an independent. They took the time to check the wheels and 3 out of 4 are buckled, one of them not as bad as the others. I too had vibration so I’d get the wheels checked asap.

9k miles over 12 months on 23’’ wheels and no issues yet. MY23 D350 HSE

It's a worry, it's one thing with such low profile rubber going offroad and going over rocks and boulders at walking pace, you just need to be carefull of the outcrops of rocks damaging the sidewalls & rims, or admiring your Maverick coolness as you drive past the high street shop windows (if you are allowed to) admiring those 23" pieces of automotive scuplture you just raided the kiddies piggy bank to buy.

But slamming into a 3" deep pothole on the M4 services exit slip road at 70ish fully loaded with foot planted on a 40 profile tyre, man you'll be lucky if your rims survive that, I've done it twice now, 1 BMW and 1 Audi wheel shot to pieces, tyres were fine though.

Road conditions these days, 50's as low as I'd go especially the weight of fatty. I'd guess Land Rover warranty wouldn't cover busted rims and @ £1000+ each, not sure the insurance company would be happy either, you might get from the council, but it'd be a long shot. Fuji White / Jet 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster

I agree, but now I have found out its the rim thats bent, and a tyre totally destroyed. It had a monster bubble on it when I put up the pressure, I have recalled exactly where the pothole was. On the road into Storrigton in West Sussex on my way to Goodwood Members. I am going to persist and see whether I can get a claim out of the Council for a wheel and tyre. Although I need to check the rear near side as that also went into the pothole . Thats going to be about £1500 a wheel and £360 a tyre , just under £4k. 2006 S/C owned from new. Coincidently I was in the same area today. Thought I’d visit Pulborough JLR to have a nose at their SV. They were closed!

A27 also snarled up at Fontwell from illegal pony and trap racing.

Yes I have the JLR dealer fit front and rear dashcam. It bleeps at me if I go too fast over a speed bump and I believe it records the event but I’m not an expert. I think of it as added insurance.

Only last week there was a terrible fatality on the A272 near Goodwood which reports suggest may be partially related to a pothole, so definitely need to be cautious at present.

On brighter news I’m looking forward to the reveal of the New Vanquish soon!
