Service cost

Hi all,

Just called a London dealer to book my 4 year / 40k service on a supercharger l405 and was quoted £1096 and I’m shocked. Given the premium I do expect to pay a fair chunk for service and accept a premium over other brands but that cost is crazy in my opinion.

Am I mad? Anyone else paid similar?

Appreciate your thoughts[/i]

Less than half that, at a main dealer 28 miles from central London.

Thanks, would you mind sharing which dealer?

It was staples corner that quoted me that fee, I know they own the Watford one too.

Half that price sounds jolly good value, I paid £875 about this time last year, but that did include changing the differential fluid front and rear which might have added £100 to the standard service. That in Kelso, Scottish Borders. Maybe worth checking exactly what each garage will do so it really is like for like. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I’ll check the actual amount, but I do recall being pleasantly surprised by it. It’s a dealership I have used for over 20 years and last service was the 7 year one.

Sounds more like 80,000 miles/ 60 months service which includes the Transfer Case, Dynamic Response and Rear diff fluids as well?

We ended up down the service plan route, I think we paid ~£1500 for the 60, 72 and 84 month service which included the Transfer Case Fluid, Dynamic Response Filter & Fluid, Rear Differential Fluid, flexible Brake hoses and MOT tests at our local MD.

Still very expensive all things considered, suspect we could barter / shop around for each service as we have two competing dealers within an equal distance to us. Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

When I queried the fixed price, it only included a basic oil change you still had to add the other items on top which brought it back up Big Cry Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Oh really? They said it didn’t cover any of the optional things on the service sheets. Is there any documentation/ pricing anywhere? We are about to renew the service plan, but if it can be had cheaper I’m all ears! Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Yeah both the local ones (different franchises) said the same, basically said it was bare minimum and that we would have a cost on top to cover everything if required.

We’ve been quoted £1450 to renew the service plan for the next 3 services.

Last service for my car, a 16MY 4.4VSE was £432, including MoT, by Harwoods Edenbridge in August last year. Invoice details attached - looks like they gave me a discount too as the menu price is shown and it’s more than the price I paid.

In terms of work, it looks pretty much like an oil change and safety check.

Ok so I’ve done some digging,

I rang the same London dealer today and was given a price of £960 or something like that. Not sure why I was quoted more on Saturday.

I also rang some dealers in the Lincolnshire area as I do travel up and down a bit and was quoted £760 at one and £580 at another.

This is all for the 48 month / 4 year service. They all seem to read me the same list of works to be done under the 48 month service.
Appreciate location does play a part in cost but didn’t expect that much difference!
Just goes to show, do shop around!
