2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black
Cabin Pre-Conditioning

I don’t have this on my First Edition but it’s coming on my new SV which is due to be built in a few weeks. The description states that you can now pre heat and pre cool without switching the engine on. Does anybody know how this work? The previous FBH only ‘vented’ when in the cooling function so I’m intrigued how it works.

Does the conditioning now integrate into the app too?

Nope. P530. This is what it says on the configurator:

Cabin Pre-Conditioning

Your journey begins when you want it to and how you want it to. Pre-heat or pre-cool the cabin from your phone, without starting the engine or getting in the vehicle.

Maybe it's the wording then as you don't start the car, but it remote starts it from the app?

Mine does the same, you can heat and cool from the app, but the engine is fired up. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

On my build sheet it says Fuel burning cabin preconditioning with remote control. So I was just assuming it was the same set up as with the L405 (a separate remote). I would be surprised if it actually cools other than by just turning the fan on and opening the vents. It would be great if it did cool though, I would actually find that more useful than the heating.

Mine has the FBH with remote, I use that to heat the car then the app to remote start and cool in the summer. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Yes, I understand that's how it works. I was meaning it would be good if it cooled without the engine on because having the engine running is not desirable for a number of reasons.

I don’t think you can cool any car without aircon on which means having the engine on. The FBH on cool only recycles the air inside-outside. MY23 D350 HSE

Yes, you can only do it on hybrids and EVs as they use the battery to run the aircon MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid
