TD6 best battery?

Best quality battery for TD6 ? do any folks on here have any good recommendations re- brand etc.

Recently I have experienced a few hesitant starts when it was minus 5. ( Car has been in daily use, but mainly for short journeys) Tonight after 24 hrs parked on the driveway it failed to start, cranked over a little then died. The car gets left for months at a time due to my work, and as the current Lucas battery is about 5 years old so I cannot complain. Apart from the old frozen touch screen problem car has run perfectly, no other faults.

As a side note - Battery probably dead, yesterday it was a clothes drier drive belt failure ( parts now on order ), now wondering what the third one will be Censored Whistle

Yuasa silver top 020 from Halfords is what I've just fitted to mine.

I've got a trade card, so believe it or not, Halfords was the cheapest supplier.

This battery has the best spec, ie aH and CCA for the size, and I've been impressed by fitting them to previous Defenders and Discoverys before I fitted one to my L322 TD6.

Starter spins effortlessly, and she fires straight up.

Thanks for your input. We are obviously on the same page, as this is the battery I have just bought Very Happy and Halford's had the best deal. Plus the nearest store is only ten minutes from home, the 5 year warranty is also a bonus. Especially when fitting it to a FFRR Thumbs Up
