How long do these wraps last ? I notice in that video they use some sort of knife/scalpel to cut around the handles/edges - does that not leave a slight mark on the paint underneath ?

I just wondered if it's a permanent fix or can it be removed safely once you're bored ?

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What are the benefits of vehicle wrapping?
A: Vehicle wrapping vinyl can be easily removed so that when you want to sell your vehicle you can simply restore it to its original colour without losing value.
The main reason people have their vehicles wrapped is because they would like to keep their car but want a different colour. With over 80 standard colours plus if you want a printed design or part wrap we are open to your ideas to style your car.

Q: How much does vehicle wrapping cost?
A: The cost depends on the size of vehicle being wrapped but for an average size car it starts from around £1,500 inc. VAT.

Q: How long does a vehicle wrap last?
A: A professionally applied vehicle wrap will last between 3 and 5 years.

Q: Is the vehicle wrap easy to remove?
A: Yes. The vehicle wrapping film we use is applied with high quality adhesives and can be easily removed within 5 years of the wrap being installed.

Q: Do I have to pay someone to remove the wrap?
A: No. We’ll supply you with simple instructions for removing the graphics yourself.

Q: Will vehicle wrapping damage the vehicle?
A: Applying specialist vehicle wrapping film to your vehicle will not damage your paintwork. However If you already have stone chips, abrasions or rust patches on your paintwork it’s important to remember that when the vinyl is removed it may pull loose paint off with it.

Q: Can I choose to wrap just part of my vehicle?
A: Vehicle wrapping is most effective when the whole vehicle is covered in a complete design, but you can chose to wrap just part of the vehicle, such as the rear doors or side panels.

Q: Who do I need to advise about my vehicle wrap?

A: Insurance
It is important that you advise your insurance company that you have had your vehicle part/fully wrapped. This way should you be in the unfortunate position of having an accident or need to claim on your insurance company then they are aware of the costs and materials that will need to be replaced.

DVLA
The DVLA should only be contacted should the car be a permanent colour change. As vehicle wraps are temporary there is no need to advise them of your wrap.
Police
As part of the police's vehicle database, your car registration is linked to the make, model and colour of your vehicle. If the police do a registration number check they may stop you and ask questions regarding the colour. It is very easy to demonstrate that the vinyl is temporary and not the true colour - simply lift your bonnet or your door shuts (if not wrapped).

A: Vehicle wrapping protects your paintwork against stone chips and minor abrasions.

As said, you usually get 4 or 5 years out of a wrap if you don't abuse it.

Mick,

The Door Bumps would be removed (Could be put back but I suggest not) and the Vents and everything but the bodywork stays the same. You choose whether to have the door shuts wrapped or not. Thumbs Up
