Wi fi not connecting to phone on 2022 D300

Hi all. Re RR D300 Westminster 2022. I'm having problems trying to connect the car to my Android phone to use the internet., using the phone as the wi fi hotspot. I've tried to set it up on 2 different phones but all it does, on the car screen, displays "connecting" & that's as far as it will go. it can stay on this display indefinitely. I have had it working before, but I'm wondering if the last R/R update has caused the problem. So far, I've tried changing the name of the phone, altered the security settings and changed the security code, but none of these make any difference. all other bluetooth connections work fine. Any suggestions?

I had this on L322 so don't know if the solution will work for you.... I connected the wife's phone with mine out of range. Then connected mine, worked a treat. 2007 3.6 TDV8

Thanks FJ. That didn't work. I think it will be a dealer visit at some time.

This does not surprise me too much. Hotspots like these have limitations on their configuration which some devices (in this case your car) reject and won’t connect. It happens the other way around too, for example my wife complained her laptop would not connect to the car’s WiFi, just hangs there saying ‘Connecting’. So perhaps your car is looking for security features this phone’s hotspot does not have or perhaps it has issues with the connection limits imposed by the phone. I doubt a dealer will be able to solve this but good luck trying and we’d all be interested to know if you’re able to crack this. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Morning Ilard. That's very interesting what you say about your wife's laptop not connecting to the car. Mine does that flawlessly, it's getting the car to connect to the phone that's my problem. I've tried to connect with 3 phones, two brand new Samsung and an old one, plus trying to connect to the house Wi Fi. all I get is "connecting". The annoying part is that until recently it all worked perfectly, with the Samsungs & old phone until just before Christmas when the car received an over the air update, & now I have this problem.
I'll keep persevering & let you know if I have any success.
kind regards
p

Update

Update.. I've not used the motor for a week, started it this morning & without any input from me, it not only connected to my phone, but showed several nearby WiFi access points.
