Tdv8 3.6 Starter click no start

Hi,

The issues started about a year ago. If it was below -5c outside the starter would click but it would not crank, if outside temp was over -3c the car Would start no problem.
This summer i tried fixing the starter (cleaning solenoid contacts and re-lubricating gears etc.), but i managed to break solenoid contact bar while screwing in solenoid cover.
So i purchased a brand new original starter. And the issue still remains.
This winter i have discovered that if i heat the starter and battery wire connector nut(with a blow torch) for about 5min the car would start, also while heating a small click could be heard from starter.
I also replaced the battery about 1 year ago and cleaned all connectors on the battery/ megafuse.

What could be the issue?

The car is l322 2007 tdv8 3.6l.

Thank you in advance!

Here are a couple of threads with a lot of info about starter motor problems and solutions, general consensus seems to be either contacts in the starter, battery or the cable between the battery and starter.

Thanks for the reply, since the starter is new (3 months old) and the battery is also quite new my main suspect is the wire from battery to starter.
I'll check it over the weekend.
Also forgot to mention that last month i opened up the new starter and the contact's were great, no pitting and only slight discolouration.
