Good call SamThomas, the tyres themselves could be a big part of the problem. Also ensure that the tyres are the same make,brand, type, as this can cause loads of handling issues.
Seen the issues highlighted on a couple of the Wheeler Dealer episodes, where there were different makes of tyres on a couple of the motors (one of which made the seller believe the steering rack was goosed). New same brand tyres fitted and the problems disappeared. Worth a quick look.
