I recently picked up my 08 RR and the dealer kindly fitted 4 new tyres. They are a cheap tyre Accelera Iotas and too be honest I cannot really fault them they are quiet and grip seems to be good and at 125 euro a corner thats gotta be good but then I think its like wearing a Gucci suit with a cheap pair of shoes. When I search for reviews there are some very mixed views on these tyres leading me to think I should maybe opt for something else. I'm reluctant to fork out money however and as the tyres seem fine im thinking i will keep them. One of the joys of owning a Landrover for me has always been sleepness nights thinking about whether to change or not to a more recognised brand. From reading here the Hankook Ventus tyes seem to be reasonable and a good tyre and I had considered buying those but then I think keep the ones i have and when worn switch to a more establised brand. Similar boat to you. When I got mine the dealer had put them on the front. 12months later there still on and have worn really well. The gripped well during the winter and snow so when the rears are worn I will match them up. Were not driving high speed cars and they arn't go-karts so find it hard to justify big money on a named brand.

Keep the ones you have and just replace them with some better tyres when you need to. FFRR TD6 HSE

Some people are tyre snobs - hence the mixed reviews.

Personally I can't afford to spend 1G every year on tyres so I tend to go for the cheaper budget ones. I've never had reason to be unhappy with £100 a corner tyres - I've found cheap tyres to be good for the mild off roading I do as well as good in the snow.

Currently I have Conti GT's but when they need replacing I will be going for some Nankangs or maybe some Kumho's! In the past I have gone for part warns - but have been very disappointed with the quality of them.

If money was no object then I'd have the best RR with the best tyres! 

I've been in similar dilemmas over the years with various cars. but unless you go for some really, really cheap tyres, "mid rangers" for want of a better description can be as good. I suppose it all depends on wether anyone looking at your car is going to inspect the tyres and comment on the fact that they aren't a "premium" brand.
In days gone by, I used Falken, which have been good, so unless you have a real compelling reason to change from a brand new set of tyres just because they don't have a name that people recognise seems a real extravagance, but you pays yer money!  Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

if you wear designer clothes then you will wont to change them for a top brand and in the process pay through the nose for them...

if you're happy with the tyres, leave them on and spend your money on something else..

Rob thanks I had read about sidewalls cracking on them but as they are all tested and Emarked they have to be fine. How are they wearing mileage wise? Only your Avatar will keep me from sleeping tonight now  Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

I've done about 15k on them now and they still have a lot of life in them. They have worn very well and not had any problems with sidewalls cracking etc.

I would keep them until I had to change, but in the past when I was in a similar situation I took a LR to the nearest independent tyre dealer, he px'ed the tyres fitted for some BFG Trac Edge tyres which I preferred. He gave me a good price for my "old" tyres which were hardly worn for a deal which was mutually beneficial...

He subsequently sold the old tyres to a farmer who wasn't bothered about slightly used tyres to save £20!

Just to chip in my thoughts, I'd say if they're 20 inch tyres, keep them, but you could consider getting some winter tyres on 19 inch rims, assuming these are summer tyres! Makes a lot more sense then replacing perfectly good tyres. As said above, they'll be perfectly adequate for normal use, and it'd make more sense to look at having winter/ summer sets, rather than chucking away a perfectly good set.

In fact, having read the above, I'm wondering about going for Accelera next time I need tyres! On the look out for Winters at the moment though! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Personally I have always used budget tyres on my vans, cars, work vans & trucks with no issues. The only time i have regretted a tyre purchase was some rather expensive Pirellis for my golf last year, they were terrible!

While we're on the subject - anyone any opinions on Cooper Zeons? 255/55/19 currently £110/ea from Blackcircles and seem to have good reviews 2008/58 FFRR 3.6 TDV8 Vogue

cooper tyres, a big american company that brought avon tyres here in the uk..cant go wrong with a pedigree like that..

My dad has coopers on his disco2. He's had them for quite a while now and he loves them.

I don't care what the make is, as long as they don't pop when you're going 70.

Do people really look at the make of tyres & mutter "cheapskate" when you're driving a 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 or 80K + value vehicle ?

My only insistance is I'd rather a main dealer (of course a good one......) fitted the tyres, just cause in past experience the average cheap tyre shop haven't got a clue & usually jack the car where they shouldn't and / or damage the alloys !
For the sake of a few extra quid, I like peace of mind that they know how to remove a wheel and tyre without damage.
