Today I noticed that the side side step was stuck out on the drivers side when the passenger side had already folded in as soon as ths door closed. I shut my door a few times but the step stayed out. I then carried on my journey as normal and eventually it had gone back in.

Any idea why it does this and how can I prevent it from happening again? 2012 4.4 tdv8 westminster

First steps to take would be get underneath the car and inspect all parts, check that no debris is trapped somewhere and clean and lubricate all moving parts, it could easily be rust / seizure as your car is now ten years old. After that, use the wiki / search function as there have been many threads on issues with side steps.
