The Best oil for the 4.4 V8 M62 engine?

Hi all, its that time again! , need to get tankers worth of new engine oil and am looking for everyones advise on the best for this engine?

please can petrol owners of 2002 - 2005 4.4 comment on their experience and recomendations

i cant comment of the make of oil but you do need some very low temperature stuff to cope with your climate up there...

I put Mobil 1 in mine. As far as I'm concerned the best oil you can buy off the shelf. Costco sell it for £24 for 4L.

i use commo from my car parts supplier ....they used to/still supply formula 1 cars so good stuff Thumbs Up "RANGEISM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED"

FUCHS Titan SuperSyn is the BMW OEM Preference. It's a bit expensive these days, I used to pick it up from G&S for £16 for 5L.

Just put Morris Lubricant 5/40 multivis fully syn on mine !!

Always used their oil from when I was bike racing and on the last two land rovers i have had !!

I heard Mobil 1 is a bit on thi side for vanos units???

castrol mag is not synthetic is it??

seems lot of diffrent verdics on this........ Current vehicles

I'm about to change the oil and wondered with the bmw vanos would 5w 30 or 5w 40 fully synthetic be better?

Still no answer to the above then. I am trying to find out the best/correct BMW M62 Oil choice. It seems 10w40 is correct but 5w30 is Ok. Which brand is BMW or Land Rover recommended for this engine?
