Executive rear seat storage lid fatal demise

I love the electrically deployable centre armrest with handy storage and charging capabilities, plushly finished in fine semi-aniline leather. My 7 year old son finds it delightful.

But as it turns out it is not indestructible.

In fact if you really try hard enough the hinges snap clean off!

Any idea how I can find the part number for this hinge mechanism? I figure I can fit myself. If necessary I will book it in and pay £1million to have it fixed by the professionals but I thought it would be worth checking here first.

Also, has anyone else’s broken? Seems an odd failure to me. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Mine also have broken. I was told that the whole part needs to be replaced. Cost of 700€ plus. So I didn't investigate more. But will be interested in where you get with this. SDV8 AB MY 2020

I’ve looked at 2 approved used in the past month and both had broken hinges. The second dealer said he already had some on back order for a customer so I took the plunge and bought it anyway assuming it’s a regular thing that breaks and asked them to order me a set. Price seems steep even for LR. MY19 SDV8 Autobiography

Did you get the part number? How much? I might think about doing the replacement. Need to find out how to take it apart. SDV8 AB MY 2020

Just wondering if you got any reply. I will try and ask when I drop the car in for its service car. SDV8 AB MY 2020

No I never got the part before I rejected the car, too many faults which they couldn’t diagnose. MY19 SDV8 Autobiography

mine is an approved used and it had broken too, the lid had been bonded shut by someone, I didnt find out for ages after buying it so cant take it back to them. I'd be interested in a cheapish fix otherwise I'll leave it shut First time FFRR owner

Just bought mine and when I got home found mine broken as well, seems like a part that snaps easily judging by the comments above, but with no fix?

Mine was replaced under warranty in the end. The part for me was LR123412.

Mine has come apart from the front whilst moving the seats up and down . Was told by main dealer there are no repair parts , only to replace the entire arm rest , over £6k for it … I decided to keep it deployed as I can’t see the broken bit . 2019 SV AB Dynamic Scafel Grey

Ohh, I may have to look into that as although the car is nearly 6 years old, it has come with a years Landrover warranty as a approved used car, but if I have no joy there, I also think if I can find a plastic tube that is the correct diameter to 'snap' over the metal cylindrical parts in the base by cutting a slot in the tube I could epoxy that to the underside of the lid (in the hinge position, I may be able to fashion a repair. (just thinking out loud Smile)

If you cant purchase parts then why is this showing availability and parts?? admittedly they are expensive but on the face of it appears you can purchase all the required parts.

Land Rover has been known to stop making smaller parts available individually, instead supplying the major component especially if a design change has occurred. MY21.5 D350 Vogue SE Carpathian Grey
