Highly-specced Vogue vs SE vs AB - Why or why not? | |
OK, this is really for a bit of fun so everyone can have their 2p worth: why do some FFRR purchasers spec up a base model to the hilt, rather than simply go for a higher-spec model?
I was led to make this post after doing the geek thing and pricing up my mine to see how much it cost the OP back in 2017. So, options plus car as follows:-
4 zone aircon £915.00
22” wheels & tyres £2600.00
Ambient Lighting £240.00
Black Painted Roof £520.00
Ebony Headliner £315.00
Foot Pedal Metallic £160.00
Tghnd Privacy glass. £315.00
Large washer tank £35.00
Full size Spare £260.00
Wood/Lth.St.Wheel £485.00
Mud Flaps £284.00
Deployable Steps £3270.00
RR VOGUE (2017) £84195.00
Total: £93594.00
That’s more than an SE then by quite some margin, and only £801 short of an AB!
Why would he do that, do you think? Does it make sense, or is it utter nonesense?
(Of course, if I add on my own recent “big brakes” upgrade (an unavailable/unpriceable option) at approx. £5K, then we are nearly at a £100K Vogue )
I must say, the car suits me, and the OP must have given serious thought into it at the time, however maybe he thought too much about what he wanted, and not necessarily about what he was missing out on? “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
