Damaged Gear Selector

The gear selector got stood on by a child and although I can select a gear it makes a lot whirring and clicking noises on start up/shut down. I have a bit of tape on the knob that allows me to left it and turn it without any issues. It does not rise as whatever it is that lifts it isn’t lifting.
Only a matter of time before it fails do I need to get it repaired.

There’s a reputable place in Derbyshire that charges £300 but it’s postal and may take up to a week there and back. And there’s a guy in Leicester does them for £180 - few positive reviews on his eBay page but can’t find much else out. I’ve had too much go missing in the post to be confident I’ll get it back!!

I really need my car for work - NHS ambulance service and 30 miles to/from work so can’t be taking time off at the moment.

Anyone know where spare parts for the selector can be bought? Obviously these two use them - or are they made just for them?

Other option is one from breakers - but I’ve been stung by them before and at £250 minimum I’m wary

Give Land Ranger a call in Stockport. 0161 474 0101. They'll be able to fix it and/or supply you with the parts to do so. That's who I use for most of my repairs. 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography in black

Thanks, I’ll try them to see if they’ll provide a parts service only. There’s an independent near me but they’re booked up til next year.

Thanks, I’ve checked that already but it’s not really what I’m looking for.

These two places who repair the modules are getting parts from somewhere and I’m trying to find where that is.

I’ve a feeling that it’s something broken rather than a solenoid issue - but don’t want to pull it apart and end up carless for a week

Is it possible to use a selector from a disco/sport etc - friend has access to SDD to reprogram
