My father in law has had a new Kia on order since May of this year and no build date in sight. Even if they suddenly announce a build in January they have to ship it here and deliver, so that looks like getting on for a year.

They took his PX in May of this year , fortunately he has access to other cars.


JRL are not alone in the slow lane delivery department. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

When I bought the Mrs Niro in Nov 21 there was a bit of a wait if I wanted a clean sheet build. So I just took one of the ones in their new already built stock. Pretty much the spec I wanted bar the colour. Delivered to dealer for collection in 2 weeks. I imagine it’s different now, but I thought that was pretty good. only thing which was slightly annoying was it had the older style badge not their new graphic but wasn’t that fussed. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Mrs V8 git a new Niro in August last year had a 3 month wait , on collection they said waiting time was now 6 months. They are experiencing same issues with chips as other manufacturers.

What I can’t understand is why the chip manufacturers are not getting back up to speed. I know there is also an issue with some car looms which are made in Ukraine for obvious reasons.
