2016 Range Rover Vogue SDV8 Loire Blue
911

Following aja500 admission that he also had one on order I thought I would continue the chat elsewhere.
I have had a 911 itch for 40 years and decided to get on and scratch.
Nearly 2 years ago I started visiting OPC dealers and almost placed an order for a 992 turbo S. SWMBO questioned why and my answer that it is quicker than a Tesla and I can was insufficient. So a delay of a year took place whilst I assessed the range, annoyingly the Wench was right and a poverty spec C2 was more rewarding to drive and that is what was ordered at the beginning of July 2021.
At that time there were 6 orders ahead of me and the suggestion was delivery Q1 this year. Communications from them was/is dire, they have 1 ahead in the queue and delivery is Q3ish because of covidbrexitUkrainemanflu.
I wonder if I may drive it home and put it up for sale quickly, partly because the itch has gone away, partly because it will cheese them off like they have done to me, but it is to be a winter toy/spare car. If ever I get the 460 as we are keeping the 405 the pork will be surplus and might return a dividend.
Annoyingly if I had worn the trousers in my household and just bought the Turbo the itch would have been scratched, delivery would have been 3 months from order, fun would have been had and a significant profit taken on the eventual day of 460 delivery.
I justify all this indulgence on the grounds that the English economy needs all the help it can get. letters not necessarily in the right order

Hold the front page in a race between a Porsche and a Range Rover, the Porsche arrives first.

What beautiful cars here. I totally agree, if I could afford 2 cars then this would be my combo. A C2 is too purist for me! A Turbo S too expensive. I don’t need the full sports car experience, so a 4S convertible, or at least a Targa, would press my shaky old buttons. My only ask would be the obscenely priced leather upgrades, trick suspension and small wheels / taller rubber. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Would love a targa of any variety and breed except a 996. Just can’t get on with the headlights.

The new ones are too expensive, the 991s are nice, 997’s more in my bracket. I’m partial to a 993 as well, so I could go there but they are getting spendy now, I’ve got a mate who has a 993 C2 and 993 turbo which is a nice garage to have. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

10 year anniversary for me and my old girl in July, I don't use it half as much as I should these days but I just can't bring myself to part ways.

Pic from 2013 not long after I'd bought it.
