Roof rail removal

My recently purchased 2012 has aftermarket roof rails which I don’t need and would like remove.

What do I need? Is it 6 M8 grub screws and the flaps? The Powerful U.K. video I have seen about fitting roof rails shows them cutting off the flaps, so is it possible to refit flaps again?

Many thanks

Kevin

When I fitted mine, the only choice was to remove the flaps - literally had to break them off. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

personally I would keep them on. they look good on and you never know when you may need to use them. Also, with the rails, you can have the option of 3 cross bars to spread the land. you can only have 2 without and they are not slidable along the roof.

The black ones on yours are quite elegant. The paint is peeling on the black parts, they are a bit shabby, and as I say I can’t see ever needing them.

Has anyone ever removed the rails and refitted the flaps?

You have to buy the complete strip with the flaps in the colour of your vehicle - from memory they are quite expensive I looked at putting rails on mine years ago and went for whisbars as I could leave the flaps on and put roof rack on when I needed them

They look like a good option, do they clip in place?
