i've read somewhere on the forum that placing a block of wood in certain places and pushing the door on said wood will bend the door into shape. ... - .- -.

Back in British Leyland days, it was a normal job in the pre-delivery inspection to bend door frames to get the seals to stop whistling air on a windy day. Standard tool was a three foot long steel bar with two pieces of round steel bar two inches long welded at right angles to the bar, one at the end, and the other leaving a 3 inch gap. Wind the window down and give it a tweak adjacent to the top of the wound down glass area. Most window frames had fixing bolts at the front of the door frame next to the A-Pillar. I have had to undo the top one to tweak the door frame to get a good seal. Trial and error job. You can put strips of hardwood each side of the frame to stop dents appearing if you need to put a lot of strain on the door. |
